Mile High Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. flour
    4 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. shortening
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    3/4 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 c. milk
    1 egg
Preparation
    Sift together flour, baking powder, sugar, cream of tartar and salt.
    Cut in shortening.
    Combine egg and milk.
    Add to flour all at once, stirring just enough to stick together.
    Turn onto lightly floured surface.
    Knead lightly 15 times.
    Roll to 1-inch thickness.
    Cut and place 1-inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes.
    Makes 16 biscuits.
