Ingredients

1 1/3 c. butter
2 c. packed brown sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
4 eggs
4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1 c. pecans
16 oz. chopped dates
Preparation

Cream together the butter, sugar and vanilla. Add the eggs, one at a time.
Sift together the flour, salt and soda. Add to the creamed mixture.
Stir in pecans and chopped dates.
Cover with wax paper and refrigerate for 1 hour.
Drop by tablespoons about 2-inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake 10 minutes at 375\u00b0.
Remove immediately from the baking sheet and cool on wire racks.
Makes 8 dozen.
