Cheesy Potato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
    4 c. water
    1 1/2 Tbsp. salt
    1/4 to 1/2 tsp. pepper
    3 Tbsp. minced onion (1 1/2 Tbsp. dried minced)
    2 Tbsp. margarine
    2 Tbsp. flour
    4 c. milk
    4 c. grated American cheese
Preparation
    Boil first 5 ingredients in a very large pan until potatoes are done but still firm.
    In a second large pan, melt margarine; stir in flour until smooth.
    Gradually stir in milk and cook over low heat until hot.
    Stir in the cheese.
    When it is melted, pour the milk mixture into the pan of potatoes and water.
    Stir.
    Makes about 1 gallon.
    Great reheated, too.
