Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
5 eggs, separated
2 c. cake flour
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped pecans or walnuts
1 c. Angel Flake coconut
5 egg whites, beaten stiff
Preparation

Cream butter with shortening and sugar.
Add egg yolks, one at a time.
Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk. Add vanilla, nuts and coconut.
Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Bake in 3 greased and floured 8-inch round cake pans at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
Cool and frost.
