Red Velvet Cake And Icing - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter and Crisco
    2 c. sugar
    2 eggs, beaten
    1 Tbsp. cocoa
    1 Tbsp. vinegar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 tsp. soda
    2 1/2 c. plain flour
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 oz. red food coloring
Preparation
    Grease four cake pans. Sprinkle with flour. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and beat until fluffy. Make a paste of cocoa and vinegar. Add to butter mixture. Sift salt, soda and flour together. Add to mixture, alternating with buttermilk. Add vanilla and coloring. Bake layers at 350\u00b0 for 15 to 20 minutes.
