English Toffee Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. butter
    1 c. sugar
    yolk of 1 egg, save white
    2 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar well; add egg yolk, cinnamon and vanilla.
    Spread in large flat pan sprayed with Pam.
    Spread unbeaten egg white on top.
    Drain off excess.
    Add 1 cup chopped nuts sprinkled and pressed on top.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 about 25 minutes. Do not overcook.
    Cut while hot.
    Leave in pan until cool.
