Homemade Peanut Butter Candy - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 c. sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. milk
1/4 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 (18 oz.) jar Jif peanut butter (creamy)
Preparation

Combine peanut butter, sugar and salt in a large saucepan (3 quart size).
Add milk gradually; mix thoroughly and bring to a bubbly boil on high heat, stirring continuously.
Reduce heat to medium and continue to boil the mixture without stirring until it reaches a temperature of 232\u00b0 or until a small amount of mixture forms a soft ball when dropped into cold water.
(Be sure bulb of thermometer is not resting on bottom of saucepan.)
Remove saucepan from heat; add butter and vanilla to mixture.
Do not stir.
Allow candy to cool at room temperature until it reaches 110\u00b0.
