Washington State Apple Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 c. sliced, peeled apples (5 to 6 medium)
    2 Tbsp. water
    1 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1/2 c. water
    1/2 c. packed brown sugar
    3 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
    1/8 tsp. ground ginger
    1/8 tsp. salt
    pastry for double crust pie (9-inch)
Preparation
    In a saucepan, combine apples, water and lemon juice; cook over medium-low heat just until the apples are tender.
    Remove from the heat and cool (do not drain).
