The Best Ever Lemon Meringue Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 to 6 Tbsp. flour
    1 c. sugar
    1 lemon rind, grated
    3 egg yolks, beaten
    2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    dash of salt
    1 c. Pet or Carnation milk
    1 c. water
    juice of 2 lemons
    1 (9-inch) pie crust, baked
    3 or 4 egg whites
    1/4 c. sugar
    lemon juice (optional)
Preparation
    Mix flour, sugar, rind, beaten egg yolks, salt and butter thoroughly.
    Heat milk and water and pour over mixture.
    Cook in heavy double boiler until thick.
    Add lemon juice and stir.
    Pour into baked pie shell.
    When cooled, top with meringue.
