German Sauerbraten - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 to 5 lb. beef (bottom round)
    1 large onion, sliced
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    salt and pepper
    2 bay leaves
    8 whole cloves
    1/2 c. white vinegar
    enough water to cover meat
Preparation
    Place meat in a large glass or plastic bowl (non-metal) and add all ingredients listed. Add enough water to the bowl to cover the meat. Cover bowl with a lid or Saran Wrap, refrigerate and let meat marinate for 3 to 5
    days.
