Opal Collins Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening or margarine
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    3 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. soda
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla, lemon or almond extract
Preparation
    Cream the shortening and sugar.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating well. Add flour alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with flour. Add soda and extract. Bake in a greased and floured tube pan at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
