Bread Pudding With Whiskey Sauce - cooking recipe

2 Tbsp. softened butter
1 loaf day old French bread
1 qt. milk
3 eggs
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. raisins
1/2 c. chopped nuts
2 Tbsp. vanilla extract
Preparation

Break the bread into chunks and combine with the milk in a bowl.
When bread is softened, break it up further and let it soak until the milk is absorbed.
