Joann'S Mother'S Congo Cookie Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 3/4 c. flour
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 lb. brown sugar
    2/3 c. melted shortening
    2 eggs
    1 c. chopped nuts or coconut
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients.
    Makes a stiff dough.
    Spread into a 9 x 13-inch pan sprayed with Pam.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes until toothpick comes out clean.
    Do not overbake.
