Pork Chops And Applesauce Gravy - cooking recipe

2 to 3 lb. pork chops
1 Tbsp. finely minced garlic
1/3 c. flour
1 Tbsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
3 c. boiling water
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
1 medium jar applesauce (plain, unsweetened; 32 oz.)
Preparation

Heat oil in skillet over medium heat. Brown both sides of chops in the oil, then remove from skillet and place in 3-quart casserole dish. Saute garlic in the oil, then add flour, salt and pepper. Mix well, smoothing out any clumps. Add boiling water, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils again. Add applesauce and lemon juice and blend well. Pour mixture over pork chops. Cover casserole with foil and bake 1 hour and 15 minutes at 425\u00b0. Remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes.
