Vegetable Garden Primavera(Serves 8) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. linguine
    2 medium yellow summer squash or zucchini, bias sliced into 1/2-inch pieces
    2 c. broccoli buds
    1/2 lb. asparagus, bias sliced into 1-inch pieces
    2 medium carrots, bias sliced into 1-inch pieces
    1 c. light cream (half and half)
    1 tsp. dried basil
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1/2 c. freshly grated Parmesan cheese
Preparation
    Cook linguine to package directions; drain.
    Meanwhile, cook the squash, broccoli, asparagus and carrots in a small amount of boiling salted water until vegetables are crisp-tender.
    Drain. In a saucepan, combine light cream, basil and pepper; bring to a gentle boil.
    Boil for 8 to 10 minutes, or until slightly thickened, stirring occasionally.
    Toss together linguine, vegetable mixture, cream mixture and Parmesan cheese.
