Squash Custard Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. mashed cooked winter squash
    1 c. whipping or heavy cream
    1 c. sugar
    3 eggs, lightly beaten
    1 tsp. ground ginger
    1 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
    dash of salt
    1 unbaked pie pastry (9-inch)
Preparation
    In a mixing bowl, combine all ingredients except for the pie pastry and additional whipped cream. Pour into the pastry.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
    Reduce heat to 350\u00b0, bake for 45 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.
    Chill.
    Serve with a dollop of whipped cream.
    Makes 8 servings.
