Jam Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 eggs (keep 2 whites for later)
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. butter
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. soda
    1 Tbsp. cinnamon
    1 Tbsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 jar jam (any kind)
Preparation
    Separate eggs.
    Cream butter and sugar.
    Add beaten egg yolks. Put spices in flour.
    Put soda in buttermilk.
    Add flour and milk alternately.
    Add jam, then beaten egg whites.
    Beat the 2 egg whites; add sugar and put on (between) layers.
