Pineapple Date Bread - cooking recipe

1 beaten egg
1/3 c. milk
1/3 c. melted shortening or salad oil
1 small can crushed pineapple
1 c. chopped dates
3 c. sifted flour
1/2 c. walnuts
3 tsp. baking powder
3/4 c. sugar
3/4 tsp. salt
Preparation

Combine egg, milk, shortening, pineapple, nuts and dates.
Add the sifted dry ingredients and mix just enough to moisten.
Bake in a greased and floured 9 1/2 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan at 350\u00b0 for 55 minutes.
