Toffee - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. chopped pecans
    1 c. sugar
    2 sticks margarine
    2 Tbsp. cold water
    1 Tbsp. white Karo
    2 (1.55 oz.) plain Hershey bars
Preparation
    Arrange nuts in a single layer on greased foil in a flat, approximately 9 x 13-inch, pan.
    Boil sugar, margarine, Karo and water, stirring constantly, to hard crack stage (300\u00b0 on candy thermometer).
    Pour evenly over pecans.
    Break up candy bars and place on top to melt and spread.
    Let stand several hours for chocolate to harden.
    Break into pieces and store in an airtight container.
