Fruit Cake Squares - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. chopped nuts
1 stick butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/3 c. light brown sugar
2 eggs
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. sifted flour (Swans Down)
1/2 lb. each: cherry, pineapple and mixed crystallized fruit
Preparation

Grease 10 x 15 pan. Dust lightly with flour. Spread 2 cups nuts on bottom of pan. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and beat well. Add flour, salt and flavoring. Spoon over nuts. Wet hands and pat gently to smooth out butter. Mix all fruit together. Spoon fruit mixture over batter. Again, pat fruit into batter using wet hands. Bake 1 hour at 290\u00b0. Cut while hot. Let cool.
