Melva'S Chili - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. oil
    1 lb. beef steak, cut up bite size
    1 lb. ground meat
    1 c. chopped onion
    2 cloves garlic or 1 tsp. garlic powder
    3 c. beef broth or water
    1 (14 oz.) can whole tomatoes, crushed
    1 (6 oz.) can tomato sauce
    4 Tbsp. or more chili powder
    1 to 2 cans red kidney beans
Preparation
    In Dutch oven, heat oil and fry steak and ground meat quickly. When tender, add onion and garlic and cook until onions are tender. Stir in rest of ingredients, except beans.
    Simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
    Add beans, if desired; simmer for another 30 minutes.
