Strawberry Shortcake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. cake flour
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    5 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 c. milk
    1 pt. heavy cream, chilled
    1 c. sugar, divided
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3 c. strawberries, washed and sliced
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 425\u00b0.
    Combine flour, 2 tablespoons sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a small bowl.
    Cut in chilled butter with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse cornmeal.
    Stir milk into flour mixture, mixing until a soft dough forms.
    Knead briefly until dough forms a ball.
    Divide dough in half.
    Pat dough halves into 2 greased 8-inch layer cake pans. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until a cake tester inserted in center comes out clean.
    Cool on rack.
