Sausage And Bean Soup - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. dried chickpeas
4 c. water
1 lb. Polish sausage, thinly sliced
1/2 lb. ham, diced
6 strips bacon, diced
2 onions, chopped
2 tsp. salt
4 c. water
2 large potatoes, cubed
2 c. shredded cabbage
Preparation

Place chickpeas in 4 cups of water; cover and boil for two minutes.
Remove from heat and let stand for one hour.
Add sausage, ham, bacon, onions, salt and 4 more cups water.
Cover and heat to boiling.
Reduce heat and simmer for 1 1/2 hours or until chickpeas are tender.
Add potatoes and simmer 20 minutes.
Add cabbage and simmer 10 minutes more.
Makes about eight servings.
