German Red Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. sugar
    1/4 c. brown sugar, packed
    1/2 c. apple cider vinegar
    1 medium red cabbage, shredded
    2 slices bacon
    1 or 2 Granny Smith apples, chopped
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1/4 c. water
    2 Tbsp. white wine vinegar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/4 tsp. ground cloves
Preparation
    Combine sugar, brown sugar and apple cider vinegar.
    Pour over shredded cabbage; toss to coat.
    Let stand 5 to 10 minutes. Cook bacon in large skillet until crisp; keep drippings in pan. Crumble bacon and set aside.
