Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening or 1/2 c. each shortening and oleo
    1 c. brown sugar
    2 eggs, well beaten
    1 1/2 c. flour, sifted with 1 tsp. soda and 1 tsp. salt
    1 c. white sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3 c. quick oats or old fashioned
    1 c. pecans or walnuts, chopped coarsely
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugars; add eggs and vanilla.
    Beat well. Add dry ingredients; add oats and nuts.
    Mix well.
    Drop by teaspoons on ungreased cookie sheets.
    Bake 15 minutes or until light brown at 350\u00b0.
    (I roll the dough in small balls.)
    Add raisins if you like.
