Summer Alarm Clock - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. tomato juice
    1/4 c. lemon juice
    1/4 tsp. hot sauce
    1/4 tsp. curry powder
    1 Tbsp. plus 2 tsp. chives
    1 c. brown sugar (sometimes 1 c. molasses instead of sugar)
    1 to 3 Tbsp. vinegar
    1 Tbsp. powdered ginger
    cold water with ice added
Preparation
    This was usually put into a pottery gallon jug, the kind molasses was always kept in in the winter.
    Today a thermos would be used.
