Baked Beans - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 c. beans
scant tsp. salt
1 small c. brown sugar
bacon strips
1/4 tsp. soda
1 c. ketchup
1 level tsp. mustard
ham (optional)
Preparation

Clean beans and parboil in cold water with soda.
Let come to a rolling boil.
Take off immediately; drain and rinse.
Put in hot water with salt.
Boil until tender.
Mix together ketchup, brown sugar and dry mustard.
Add to beans and stir in other ingredients.
Put strips of bacon on top of beans.
Chunks of ham may also be added before baking.
Bake at 300\u00b0 for 1 hour.
