Mystery Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. flour
    1 c. sugar
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 egg, beaten
    1 (17 oz.) can fruit cocktail (undrained)
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. brown sugar, lightly packed
    1/2 c. walnuts, chopped
    sweetened whipped cream
Preparation
    Combine flour, sugar, baking soda and salt in mixing bowl. Combine egg and fruit with syrup and vanilla; add to dry ingredients and mix to dampen.
    Pour into greased 8-inch pan.
    Mix together brown sugar and nuts.
    Sprinkle over batter.
    Bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for 45 minutes until cake tests done.
    Cool.
    Cut into 9 squares.
    Serve topped with whipped cream.
    Makes 9 servings.
