White Layer Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. margarine, softened
    2 c. sugar
    3 c. sifted cake flour
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
    1 c. low-fat milk
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    1 tsp. lemon extract
    6 egg whites, stiffly beaten
Preparation
    Cream margarine and sugar in large mixer bowl until light and fluffy.
    Combine flour and baking powder in bowl; mix well.
    Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beating well after each addition.
    Add salt, vanilla and lemon extract; beat well.
    Fold in egg whites gently.
    Pour into 3 greased and floured 9-inch round cake pans.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes or until layers test done.
    Remove to wire racks to cool completely.
    Top with favorite icing, fruit or strawberries.
    Yield:
    12 servings.
