Company Best Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

10 medium cukes
8 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. mixed pickling spices
5 tsp. salt
4 c. cider vinegar
Preparation

Cover whole cukes with boiling water.
Allow to stand until next morning; drain.
Repeat this procedure on the next 3 mornings.
On the fifth day, drain and slice in 1/2-inch pieces. Combine sugar, spices, salt and vinegar; bring to boiling and pour over cukes.
Let stand 2 days.
On third day, bring to boiling and seal in hot, sterilized jars.
Makes 6 to 7 jars.
