Poppy Seed Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. poppy seed, soaked in 3/4 c. milk overnight
    3/4 c. butter or lard
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. flour
    4 egg whites, beaten (not too stiff)
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients, except for egg whites.
    Beat egg whites, but not too stiff.
    Fold egg whites into dough.
    Makes 3 layers.
