"Mock" Strawberry Jam - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 c. mashed ripe figs
    4 c. sugar
    1 c. white Karo syrup
    2 (6 oz.) pkg. strawberry jello
Preparation
    Peel figs, mash and measure.
    Add sugar and Karo to figs. Cook for 5 minutes at rapid boil.
    Add dry jello and cook for 3 minutes longer at a good boil.
    Makes approximately 5 pints.
