Banana Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 medium ripe bananas
    1/2 c. shortening or oleo
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg
    2 1/2 c. plain flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Cream shortening into bananas with sugar.
    Blend in egg.
    Add dry ingredients and vanilla.
    Put into greased loaf pan (paper lined).
    Put into cold oven, set at 350\u00b0.
    Bake for 15 minutes without opening oven.
    Lower heat to 325\u00b0 and bake 45 minutes longer.
