Field Peas Mexicana - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. hot sausage
    1 clove garlic, minced
    2 c. tomatoes (canned)
    1 tsp. chili powder
    1 medium onion, chopped
    3 c. field peas
    3/4 c. water
    1/4 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Crumble sausage into a heavy skillet.
    Brown and drain.
    Stir in onion and garlic; saute 3 to 5 minutes.
    Stir in remaining ingredients; cover and simmer mixture 60 to 90 minutes, stirring as needed.
    Add a little more water during cooking if needed. Yields 6 to 8 servings.
