Pecan Pralines - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. extra fine white sugar
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 c. milk
    dash of salt
    3 c. pecans
    2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Combine sugar, milk and salt in a heavy saucepan.
    Cook over low heat until sugar dissolves.
    Add pecans and cook to 236\u00b0 (soft ball stage).
    Remove from heat.
    Without stirring, add butter, then let stand 5 minutes. Add vanilla and stir until slightly thick and syrup begins to look cloudy. Drop quickly by spoonfuls onto buttered cookie sheet or waxed paper. Allow to cool thoroughly.
