Ingredients

1 c. margarine
1 c. white sugar
2 eggs
4 c. flour
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. soda
1 c. shortening
1 c. powdered sugar
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugars; add eggs and beat until light and fluffy.
Add vanilla.
Add flour, soda and cream of tartar.
Chill dough overnight.
Take about 1 teaspoon of dough and roll into a ball.
Put on greased cookie sheet.
Use a smooth bottomed glass (covered with margarine) and press down balls, dipping into sugar each time.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 375\u00b0.
