Mama'S Peanut Butter Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. peanut butter
    1/2 c. soft margarine
    1/2 c. light corn syrup
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. salt
    4 c. confectioners sugar
    nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Mix
    well
    the peanut butter, margarine, syrup, vanilla and salt.
    Sift
    confectioners
    sugar.
    Gradually
    stir sugar into peanut butter mixture until smooth.
    Nuts may be added at this point, if desired.
    Put mixture in an 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan; place in fridge.
    Chill;
    cut
    into
    squares.
    Makes
    about 2 pounds of candy or 2 to 2 1/2 dozen squares.
