Aunt Vera'S Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. raw peanuts (2 c.)
    1 c. light Karo
    1 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. butter
    pinch of salt (1/3 tsp.)
    1 Tbsp. soda
    2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Combine nuts, Karo, sugar, butter and salt in heavy skillet. Cook on high heat, being careful not to burn it.
    Stir until dissolved, 15 or 20 minutes, until mixture spins a thread.
    Remove from heat and immediately stir in soda and vanilla.
    Cool on cookie sheet and break into pieces when cool.
    Can be used with 1 cup peanuts and 1 cup pecans or with 2 cups pecans.
