Chocolate Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. boiling water
    1 c. quick or old fashion oats (uncooked)
    1/3 c. butter or margarine (soft)
    1 c. granulated sugar
    1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 eggs
    1 (1 oz.) envelope no-melt unsweetened chocolate flavored ingredient
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Pour boiling water over oats; stir to combine.
    Cover and let stand 20 minutes.
    Beat butter until creamy and gradually add sugars, beating until fluffy.
    Blend in vanilla, eggs and chocolate.
    Add oats mixture; blend well.
    Sift together flour, soda and salt.
    Add to creamed mixture; blend well.
    Pour batter into a well-greased and floured 9-inch square baking pan.
    Bake in preheated oven (350\u00b0) for 50 to 55 minutes.
    Cool 15 minutes. Remove from pan; cool thoroughly.
    Add icing.
