Sunshine Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. shredded lettuce, divided
    1-1/2 c. small chopped tomatoes
    1 can Lesueur baby green peas
    1 to 2 c. shredded cheese
    1 can whole kernel yellow corn
    1 thinly sliced avocado or 1 pt. guacamole
    1 large can chopped black olives
    1 c. crushed tortilla chips
    1 c. finely chopped or shredded carrots
    1 medium red onion, diced
Preparation
    Layer in a clear, straight-sided bowl (a trifle bowl works well) all ingredients, in any order, with the following exceptions:
