Parker House Rolls(From The Files Of Dessie Bell Hayes) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 Tbsp. sugar
1 yeast cake
1 c. milk, scalded
4 1/2 c. flour
1/4 c. sugar
3 Tbsp. shortening
2 level tsp. salt
Preparation

Add sugar to milk; cool to lukewarm.
Add yeast and stir until smooth.
Let stand about 10 minutes.
Pour mixture into large bowl and add flour (1/2 cup at a time), 1/4 cup sugar, shortening and salt.
Mix well, then put on floured board.
Knead until dough is smooth.
Place in greased bowl, cover and let rise in warm place until double in size.
Knead and work again.
Make into rolls. Put in greased muffin tins and let rise again.
Cook at 400\u00b0 for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
These rolls can be made in 1 1/2 hours.
