Shrimp Creole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium onion, chopped
    3 Tbsp. butter
    3 Tbsp. flour
    1/2 c. diced celery
    Tabasco to taste
    1/2 c. parsley
    2 (15 oz.) cans tomato paste
    1 can water (if needed)
    dash of cayenne pepper
    2 bay leaves
    1/2 c. green pepper, minced
    salt to taste
    sugar (optional)
    2 lb. shrimp
Preparation
    Saute onion in butter.
    Blend remaining ingredients except shrimp; cook slowly for 30 minutes or until thickened, stirring occasionally.
    Stir in shrimp and cook until pink.
    Serve over hot, cooked rice and enjoy.
