Grandma'S Butterscotch Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 lb. butter
    2 c. dark brown sugar
    3 eggs, separated
    1/4 c. cornstarch
    2 c. cold milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Melt butter and brown sugar in a saucepan.
    Stir constantly. Mix egg yolks, cornstarch and cold milk in a small bowl.
    Add to the other mixture until the sauce thickens.
    Add 1 teaspoon vanilla.
    Cook over medium heat.
    Pour into baked pastry. Top with meringue.
