Never-Fail Toast 'N Cheese Souffle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 slices dried white bread
    1/2 lb. sharp Cheddar cheese, grated
    4 eggs, beaten
    1 Tbsp. minced onion
    1/2 tsp. prepared mustard
    3/4 tsp. salt
    dash of pepper
    2 1/2 c. milk
Preparation
    Remove crusts of bread.
    Cut slices in half diagonally.
    Place crusts from bread in bottom of well buttered 1 1/2-quart casserole and sprinkle with 1/2 of the cheese.
    Arrange bread triangles, overlapping, around edge of casserole, point sides up, saving 5 slices to place in center.
    Combine remaining ingredients, except cheese, and pour over bread.
    Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Cover and let stand at least 1 hour.
    Bake in a 325\u00b0 oven for 50 to 60 minutes.
    Serves 8 to 10.
