Buckaroo Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. pinto beans
    6 c. water
    1 large onion, chopped
    2 cloves garlic, chopped
    2 bay leaves
    1/4 lb. salt pork
    2 c. canned tomatoes
    1/2 c. chopped green pepper
    2 tsp. chili powder
    2 Tbsp. brown sugar
    1/2 tsp. dry mustard
    1/4 tsp. oregano
    salt to taste
Preparation
    Wash beans; bring the 6 cups water to boiling.
    Add the washed beans and boil about 2 minutes.
    Cover; remove from heat and let stand one hour.
    This is equal to 10 to 12 hours soaking time in cold water.
