Half Moons - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. sour milk
    2 tsp. baking soda
    4 c. flour
Preparation
    Mix first 2 ingredients; beat well.
    Add eggs, vanilla and milk; beat well.
    Add flour and baking soda, 1 cup at a time, beating well after each addition.
    Refrigerate overnight.
    Roll on floured board; cut to desired size.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 on lower oven rack for 5 minutes, then on upper rack for 5 minutes.
    (This step is very important!)
