Pecan Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. white Karo syrup
    1 tsp. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
    pinch of salt
    2 c. sugar
    4 1/2 c. pecans
    1 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Bring to boil the syrup, butter, salt and vanilla.
    Add sugar; let come back to boil and boil for 3 minutes.
    Add pecans; boil for 4 or 5 minutes, until lightly browned.
    Take off heat.
    Stir in soda.
    Spread onto buttered tinfoil.
    Break into pieces when cool.
