Foolproof Pie Crust - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. flour (lightly spooned into cup)
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    2 tsp. salt
    1 3/4 c. shortening (not refrigerated, not oil or lard, margarine or butter)
    1/2 c. water
    1 Tbsp. white vinegar
    1 large egg
Preparation
    In large bowl, stir together with fork flour, sugar and salt. Cut in shortening
    with
    fork
    until crumbly.
    In small bowl, beat together water,
    vinegar
    and
    egg.
    Add
    to
    flour mixture and stir until
    all ingredients are moistened.
    Divide dough in 5 portions and
    with
    hands
    shape each in flat round patty ready for rolling.
    Wrap
    each
    piece
    in
    wax paper and chill 1/2 hour. When you are ready to use, lightly flour both sides of patty roll on
    pastry
    sheet.
    Bake in preheated oven at 450\u00b0 for 12 to
    15 minutes.
    (You can prevent soggy bottom crust
    by baking pie on lowest
    rack
    in
    oven
    at
    specified temperature in preheated oven.)
