Ingredients

2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
2 c. oatmeal
1 1/2 c. raisins, ground
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. coconut
2 c. flour
Preparation

Cream sugar and shortening.
Add eggs and vanilla.
Cream well.
Add raisins.
Mix well.
Add soda and salt to flour; add to creamed mixture.
Then add the oatmeal and last, the coconut. Roll into balls the size of walnuts.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 12 minutes. If they are overbaked, they will be hard instead of chewy.
