Sauerkraut Balls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 onion, chopped fine
    1 c. finely chopped cooked ham (6 oz.)
    1 c. finely chopped cooked corned beef (6 oz.)
    1/2 garlic clove, minced and mashed to a paste
    2 1/2 c. plus 6 Tbsp. flour
    2 c. sauerkraut, drained and chopped fine
    1 Tbsp. finely chopped fresh parsley leaves
    1/2 c. beef broth
    4 c. fine dry bread crumbs
    3 Tbsp. unsalted butter
    1 large egg
    2 c. milk
    vegetable oil for frying
Preparation
    In a large skillet, cook the onion in the butter over moderate low heat, stirring, until it is softened, stir in the ham, corned beef and the garlic; cook the mixture, stirring for 1 minute.
    Stir in 6 tablespoons flour and cook the mixture over moderate heat, stirring for 3 minutes.
    Stir in the kraut, parsley, and broth; cook the mixture, stirring for 3 minutes or until it is thickened and pastelike.
    Spread the mixture on a platter and chill it for 3 hours, or until it is cold.
